As a junior at Riverview High School, Chris Liwski earned a seat on the Men's Junior National Team that rowed in Hazelwinkle, Belgium. After graduation from Riverview High, Chris attended Syracuse University on a full rowing scholarship and graduated in June 2002 after having rowed in the Syracuse Varsity Men's 8+ for three years.
Chris won a gold medal in the Men's 8+ at Genoa, Italy on July 28, 2002 at the Nations Cup, the World Rowing Championships for 23 and
under. The U.S. boat won in a time of 6:12:05, ahead of Canada by 3.65 seconds. Chris won a gold medal in the US 8+ at the Pan Am
Games in 2003 and was selected the following year to be the alternate on the Olympic Team for the 2004 Olympic Heavyweight 8+ in
Athens, Greece.
