Our Coaches - ANDREW BERSTER

Andy learned to row while a Sarasota Sculler with Peter as his coach and was a freshman when Bill Plifka was in his senior year. Andy was the co-captain with his cousin Chris Liwski in 1997-98. He earned a rowing scholarship to Syracuse University where he rowed for four years. While attending Syracuse, Andy was in the Varsity 8+ for 3 years and stroked his senior year. During his junior year stroked the varsity 4+ to a gold, in the men’s open 4+, at the Head of the Schuylkill, along with a first place collegiate finish in the men’s open 4+ at the Head of the Charles, in 2000. Andy stroked the varsity 8+ while competing in the Ladies Plate at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2001. While in high school, Andy was in the Riverview High School Men’s Eight that won the Florida State Championship in 1996. He now coaches for us one to two days a week.
